Stockeld Park supports COVID-19 relief effort with food donation
Stockeld Park donates Easter supplies to local special needs school to support COVID-19 relief effort.
Stockeld Park has donated its Easter food and drink supplies to a local school supporting children with special needs as part of the nationwide effort to help those struggling during the lockdown imposed by the spread of the Coronavirus.
Springwater School, which teaches children with severe physical, sensory, mental and emotional learning difficulties, has been struggling to obtain supplies to help affected families during the COVID-19 crisis.
“Thanks to Stockeld Park, all our kids were able to enjoy a decent meal”, said Springwater teacher Holly Eldridge.
“Springwater pupils were overjoyed with the generosity of Stockeld Park. Our children received a yummy picnic lunch with delicious treats courtesy of the team at Stockeld”, she continued. “It’s a hard time for our pupils, so having a special lunch being brought to them brought a little sunshine to their day.”
Like all businesses in the entertainment and hospitality sector, Stockeld Park took the decision to close its doors in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, but not before supplies for their Easter opening, scheduled for 4th April, had been bought in.
“The outbreak of Coronavirus has presented all of us with massive and unprecedented challenges, unlike any we have known as a country in our lifetime”, said Stockeld Estate Manager, George Grant. “It is a war, but of a different kind, and as in all wars some are more vulnerable than others. We had food and drink we no longer needed, and we were very glad to be able to give it to those that do.”
